Although I may never end up on a full time fire department, I really enjoy my time of the paid per call department I am on now. My asthma may stop me from pursuing a full time career at firefighting but I will not allow it to stop me from doing it at all. Asthma can be a very scary disease but something that can be managed if taken care of properly. Taking medication along with a good health plan, I can do whatever I set my mind to.
